Transformation of the 1900’s Rock Island Steel Truss Bridge linking Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO continues. General Contractor, L.G. Barcus & Sons “lifted” the middle section to a new elevation 4 feet higher than before, in preparation for additional construction to begin. This work will transform the old bridge into a new destination entertainment venue, and P-Tn will share the progress.
How do you manage to move a section of a 100 year old bridge even an inch (much less a few feet), after it’s been out of operation for years? Personally, I have no idea, but the Barcus team did, and they accomplished this feat without incident. Keep P-Tn on your social media radar for additional updates as this project moves forward. For now, have a look at some of the activities the DAY OF THE LIFT, or look back at our original video announcing the coming TRANSFORMATION.
