This will be a quick update to our previous article about the historic Carbella Bridge, which crossed the Yellowstone River about 17 miles North of Gardiner, Montana – host City to the (original) North Entrance to YNP – Yellowstone National Park. In spring of 2022, flooding swept the bridge off its footings and washed it downstream. Area residents, and tourists to the area, have been anxiously awaiting completion of a new replacement … and the day finally arrived in early October when the new bridge opened to the public – ahead of schedule I might add … thanks to Battle Ridge Builders, out of Belgrade, Montana.

One of our FAA Certified P-Tn drone pilots was in the area at the time of the ribbon cutting, when nearby neighbors were first permitted to walk the bridge and inspect the new vital artery for residents in southern Paradise Valley. We’ve added a bit of footage to our original VIDEO EDIT which highlighted the mid-point in construction when the new deck was in place, but the concrete deck, guardrails, and approaches were yet to be done. Have a look at this beautiful redesign of a classic truss bridge, and take a drive over the Yellowstone River at the Carbella Crossing, if you find yourself leaving YNP for Livingston, Montana in the years to come.
