For decades, P-Tn has provided pre and post-construction photo/video documentation of manhole and sanitary sewer pipeline construction zones throughout Johnson County, Kansas. Our records show the conditions around existing manholes and point repair locations throughout the county prior to the arrival of crews and specialized equipment that will adjust, repair, reline, or even replace select manholes, or install new liners to damaged or worn out sewer pipelines. Many of these manholes are located in city streets, but most are situated on private commercial or residential properties … in driveways, side yards, backyard and along backyard easements.
This manhole, for instance, is in a parking lot adjacent to a public building, adjacent to a residence. The asphalt parking spaces are worn and deteriorated with lots of settlement and cracks. The concrete curb is settled, cracked, and chipped. And the narrow grass parkway beyond has no landscaping. However, the privacy is damaged with missing pickets, cross supports, and temporary plywood repairs in place. The utility pole and electrical lines & conduits are also damaged. Our field photographer is carefully video recording all of these existing conditions surrounding the manhole, and verbally describing the damage shown, and the location of any problem areas. This work will protect the contractor as they make repairs, should they be accused of causing the damage. This information will also serve as a reference to aid in properly restoring the work zone.
