Chetopa-Kansas Sign

KANSAS CATFISH CAPITAL?

Are Pecans a secret Catfish BAIT?  I have no idea – I don’t fish.  Why ask?  Well, there’s clearly a connection between the two, based upon the City Limit Sign for Chetopa, Kansas.  P-Tn recently completed another rural Kansas PRE-Construction documentation assignment there.  We’ve been ‘all over’ Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and beyond this spring and summer!

Our client (and this project’s General Contractor), Bennett, Inc. headquartered in Lamar, Missouri asked us to provide PHOTOGRAPHY of their project sites throughout this small town in Southeastern Kansas, just a stone’s throw from the Oklahoma state line.  The Neosho River flows along the east side of town, so that may attract the Catfish … and a link to this article will fill you in on Chetopa Pecan HistoryTying the two together may simply be a fantasy on my part.

P-Tn’s purpose in Chetopa was far more clear.  Our photographers worked throughout the City to record current surface conditions surrounding the areas where Bennett’s crews will be working to rehabilitate manholes, install CIPP sewer pipe liners, and upgrade sewer service connections.  Our PRE-Construction record protects all parties from unjust claims or questions about pre-existing damage.  These SERVICES are the foundation of P-Tn’s Visual Documentation Services, and have been for over Fifty Years!

BG Consultants, the design Engineers for this, and many other, rural Kansas infrastructure and linear pipeline projects has called for Pre-Construction PHOTO or VIDEO documentation on most of their projects for years.  P-Tn is one of the ‘approved’ providers of Pre and Post-Construction, or Progress Photo services, often listed their project specifications.  Whether called for as a specification requirement, or simply requested by contractors for the value and protection it provides … you should consider the value of having P-Tn create a visual record of your next construction project site – BEFORE you get work underway and field conditions begin to change.

Are you an engineer?  Take a look at our suggestions for SPECIFICATION WORDING on linear projects, and feel free to copy & paste as needed to include this valuable requirement for your next design project.  If you already employ this scope of work – take a read and see if your spec wording could use some updating or customizing.  Then, be sure to follow-thru to ensure that the contractor provides you with a copy of the report for your files and use during the job, and throughout the site restoration process.  Headaches for all will be dramatically reduced!  If P-Tn can help, give us a call.
