Linear Pipeline Projects have been the focus of discussion this past year with several of our engineering and construction clients. Conversation has centered around photo or video documentation of expansive projects, where the construction zone is extended over large areas and is constantly moving. Unlike a single site for building construction, linear projects are much more challenging to document. P-Tn delivers Pre and Post-Construction photos & videos, progress, and final completion coverage – from the ground, as well as from an aerial perspective using drones.
Let’s start with a look at our Drone Aerial 360-degree Interactive Panoramic imaging. The LINK below will bring you to the initial PANO on a completed storm sewer project in the Kansas City Metro. Remember, this is not video, but it is interactive. Pan and zoom throughout the image using your curser. The detail is quite impressive, permitting you to “count 2×4’s on the ground”! The next Panorama along the alignment can be opened simply by clicking the drone icon LINK that appears on the horizon.

Or, how about focusing on this RESIDENTIAL APARTMENT PROJECT that is under construction.
Surprisingly, our Drone Aerial Panoramas are the least expensive approach to capturing progress documentation on projects of this type. Don’t get me wrong, panos should ideally supplement a group of ground-based progress photographs. The aerial perspective adds context to the progress report. By providing a great view of the current construction activities along the route, it also delivers an expansive view of the progress since the last report. Ultimately, giving you an updated view of the areas to be entered into next. This offers visual record of the affected areas as the crews move along. Plus a clear view of what portions of the easement are being impacted by the construction activities. Combined with ground photos, you have everything covered!

Whether from ground level, or from the air. The cost of periodic construction progress photos may be far less than you think, and savvy contractors will use this documentation imagery for construction site dispute ‘insurance’, for logistics, material storage decisions, internal reports, press releases and progress meeting presentations, future prospective contract submittals, as well as marketing & promotional efforts during and after the project. The first step is to have progress documented, and the uses will become apparent. Let us know if we might bid your next project.
