POST-Construction documentation is often just as important as the PRE-Construction PHOTO / VIDEO record we create for linear projects. Here’s one of our P-Tn field videographers walking for miles to record the after-construction restoration along a multi-land street improvement project in Overland Park, Kansas. We’re recording the completed asphalt pavement overlay, sections of curb & gutter that were replaced along the route, and an occasional section of sidewalk that was replaced, too. This record confirms completion of all required construction work and restoration of public and private property adjacent to those work zones.
For PRE-Construction, we walked the same miles and searched for those same areas where construction work would be done, showing the existing damaged areas to be repaired or replaced, along with the adjacent areas that might be affected by construction activities. The Pre-Con documentation delivered a valuable record that would protect all parties involved – contractor & subs, engineer, city, and private property owners – in the event a question about pre-existing damage or restoration arose later.

POST-Construction Documentation along Metcalf Project;
This particular project ( in this video clip ) was one of many annual Overland Park, Kansas street improvements. P-Tn has been handling these projects for decades, so this was not anything unusual for our field crews. Four lanes of Metcalf, from 135th Street north to 119th Street was cold-milled and repaved with asphalt, plus repairs made to designated curb & gutter sections, and selected sidewalk areas … along both north and south lanes AND the medians throughout. Our field crews walked the miles involved, times four, to cover all curb lines and median for PRE-Construction recording of existing conditions… then did it again for the POST-Construction work after project completion and restoration.
