Visual Documentation Services
Visual Documentation Services
Over the years (four decades and counting…) we have developed a specialized business niche in heavy construction and engineering-design industries. Starting with Pre and Post-Construction photography of existing conditions along pipeline routes or street improvement projects, it also includes construction ProgressPHOTOS, as well as Post-Construction or finished project “final” photography. We also deliver a variety of non-construction photography, such as aerials, architectural, marketing, candid portraiture, and other still imagery.
As digital technology developed, and advanced so dramatically in the last decade, we have moved from traditional film capture, and are now working in all-digital technology for capture and delivery of our imagery, using our LANDING APP system (below) … read on!
BIDS & SPECIFICATIONS
The project specifications on many current projects contain wording created or edited by our staff, detailing requirements for shooting and submitting project photos, videos, and related documents. We offer assistance in revising or updating specifications, and we are available to inform estimators & designers of current processes and technology for professional Visual Documentation. Please contact our staff to discuss your needs, or CLICK HERE to download spec suggestions.
Our ProgressWEBCAM Site Monitoring Systems offer a unique and effective approach to viewing activities on construction or development projects – local or remote. Through a customized ARCHIVEpics INTERFACE, our clients access images captured throughout each work day, showing general on-site activity, plus options for sharing and analysis of those PICS. An edited Time-Lapse Movie of the build is updated throughout construction; a marketing-quality version is delivered after completion.
We offer design, installation, start-up, and hosting of our ProgressWEBCAM systems, with turnkey options for client-mountable units, or trailers outfitted with masts and solar power units. Learn more …
Start-up costs can begin as low as $1250, with monthly hosting fees as low as $420 to $485.
M-E-P In-WALL or As-BUILT ARCHIVE
Simply put, M-E-P In-WALL or As-BUILT Documentation creates a photographic record of virtually every square foot of all walls and ceiling spaces in your new construction – just after final inspection, and prior to enclosure with drywall or ceiling tiles. This record shows the location, type, and installation details of all Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing systems within a new building. Future maintenance, remodeling, and repairs are facilitated by knowing exactly what is located inside the walls, and above the ceilings. It can be expanded to include images before concrete is poured for floors and columns.
Our LANDING APP again delivers this extensive documentation in an all-digital format that permits easy viewing of any photography, simply by using the original plan sheets from construction. This same type of total-structure documentation can be a valuable asset as a pre-demolition record on renovation projects. Read more …
Owner Training Video
Training of Owner Personnel on the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment systems and other new-building operations is an important aspect of project closeout. Often, these sessions must be video recorded for the owner’s permanent archiving, and for their future use – a quality presentation can be a valuable P/R delivery to a satisfied client.
Not only do we handle this important closeout item for you, but we will deliver those videos on our LANDING APP, organized and accessible by session title, for playback on any PC computer! Best of all, our professional recording procedures provide quality video in on-site conditions, and wireless microphones that permit you to hear what the presenter is teaching. We can ADD select closeout documents to your LANDING APP, for the owner to easily access O&M Manuals, warranties, inspections, etc.
Impress the owner with quality Training Session videos & closeout documents – have P-Tn build a LANDING APP, or insist that your subs and suppliers do it right.

Low-altitude aerial imaging, using UAS (Unmanned Aerial System or DRONE) equipment is still evolving, but we are active participants in this new arena. See UAS Aerial Imaging (below), and call to discuss this unique option for aerials.
UAS (DRONE) Aerial Imaging
Aerial imaging from UAS – Unmanned Aerial Systems [Drones or Quadcopters] is a rapidly growing new technology, and P-Tn is moving forward in this arena. We own and operate a UAS for both still frame capture and HI-DEF aerial video imaging. FAA regulations are still under development, and changing, so use of drones for image capture comes with restrictions and limitations. It may be appropriate only in certain locations or circumstances, and under strict controls.
Click this image for a brief introduction to this unique aerial opportunity. If you would like to consider low-altitude aerials for your project or for marketing, please feel free to call and discuss your ideas with our professionals.
Marketing & Architectural Photography
Marketing photography means many things to many people.
Our clients, most of whom are contractors, engineers, and architects, are often in need of interior or exterior views of completed projects – this is where our marketing photography is focused. A creative fee applies to the on-location photography, then we post the images we create to an Online PROOFING WebGALLERY for your review, and to make final selections. The images you choose are then professionally finished and released as reproduction-ready hi-res digital files, or printed and framed as wall-display color enlargements, to decorate your offices and for gifting to clients.
Worksite HAWK & EYE Monitoring
P-Tn installed its first ProgressWEBCAM in 1999, to record Time-lapse of construction of an Overland Park Office Building for DiCarlo General Contractors. The technology has advanced rapidly since that first unit, and we continue to provide this valuable site-monitoring tool, now in 720-dpi resolution, browser-based viewing, wireless internet, Pan-Tilt-Zoom user controls, multi-view image archiving, and quality/edited Time-lapse Videos of construction. And we can deliver a turn-key unit to your site rapidly with our T-M-S [Tower mobile, Mast mounted, & Solar powered] units, or mount at your location.
Over the years, requests for units that offer more of a security-monitoring aspect have come from our clients, but ProgressWEBCAMS perform a different function. Now, however, P-Tn brings the Worksite HAWK and the Worksite EYE systems to our clients. Through our new affiliation with Crossroads Mfg. of Clarksville Iowa, we can now offer a complimentary site monitoring unit -the Worksite HAWK – that records 24/7/365, utilizes sophisticated analytics to recognize suspicious site intrusions, and sends alerts directly to your phone as soon as they occur. Both allow LIVE VIEW access to Pan-Tilt-Zoom. The HAWK is trailer/mast mounted (19′) and solar powered. The Worksite EYE goes on a trailer-hitch mounted mast and operates from your vehicle’s DC power, so it can move with you (or your superintendent/foreman) and give you visual access to your crews – wherever they are working.
